Port of Tucson Receives TIGER Grant – The Port of Tucson has received a $5 million Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT). The grant will allow the port to expand its ability to service rail freight.

ILA Members Vote to Ratify Contract – Members of the International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) in Hampton Roads have voted to ratify a six-year contract. The union’s local contract with the Hampton Roads Shipping Association covers work rules, gang sizes, pensions and other port-specific issues.

Indonesia’s PTA with Pakistan Effective – In February 2012, Pakistan and Indonesia signed a Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA). The PTA finally came into effect September 1st following the signing of an additional Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA).
