Proposed New Rules for Large Trucks – The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is set to unveil purposed new rules on emissions and fuel efficiency for big trucks. The rules would target large transportation vehicles, buses and dump trucks and are expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by approximately one billion tons.

American Airlines Launches New 787-800 Services – American Airlines Cargo will begin using its new Boeing Dreamliner 787-800s on several routes this month. The plane can carry up to 1,000 pounds of dry ice which is important in pharmaceutical and perishable transportation. Service destinations will include Beijing, Buenos Aires, Shanghai and Narita.

Port of Oakland Busiest in Nearly Four Years – The Port of Oakland handled 213,260 TEUs in May. This was the largest monthly total since 2011. Volume has steadily grown in the past months as problems from the recent labor dispute fade.
