An ACH fee is a charge for sending, receiving, or processing an electronic bank transfer through the Automated Clearing House network in the United States. In logistics and trade payments, ACH may be used to pay carriers, customs brokers, duties, taxes, suppliers, or service providers. ACH fees are usually lower than wire transfer fees, but processing may take longer depending on the bank and payment setup. The fee may be billed per transaction, as a percentage, or included in account service charges.
An ACH Fee is charged when customs duties, taxes, or freight invoices are paid via Automated Clearing House electronic bank transfer. CBP and some service providers assess this fee to cover electronic payment processing costs.
