Quality Control (QC)

Quality Control, or QC, is the process of inspecting, testing, and verifying products or shipments to make sure they meet required standards before they are accepted, stored, shipped, or delivered. In logistics and manufacturing, QC may include checking product dimensions, packaging, labels, quantities, defects, documentation, and compliance requirements. Strong quality control helps reduce returns, prevent shipping errors, protect customer satisfaction, and catch problems before goods move further through the supply chain.

Quality Control (QC) in supply chain and logistics is the process of inspecting goods at various stages of the supply chain to verify they meet specified quality standards before they are shipped, cleared through customs, or distributed to customers.

Where QC Is Conducted

  • Pre-shipment inspection at the factory before cargo is packed
  • Third-party QC at the origin CFS before container loading
  • Incoming inspection at the destination warehouse after customs clearance
  • Amazon FBA inspections to verify product condition before sending to the fulfillment center

QC Documentation

  • QC report with pass/fail criteria and photographic evidence
  • Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) sampling standards are commonly referenced
  • QC reports may be required for customs or retail compliance
