Alameda Corridor Surcharge (ACS)

The Alameda Corridor Surcharge, or ACS, is a freight surcharge connected to cargo moving through the rail corridor serving the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach. The Alameda Corridor is a major rail route that links the ports with inland rail networks while reducing truck and rail congestion in urban areas. Carriers or logistics providers may pass this surcharge to shippers to recover infrastructure, rail access, operating, or financing costs associated with using the corridor.

The Alameda Corridor Surcharge (ACS) is a fee on rail cargo using the 20-mile freight expressway connecting the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach to the national rail network. It recovers the corridor’s construction debt service costs.

All intermodal rail shipments moving through the San Pedro Bay port complex are subject to the ACS.
