Fumigation Certificate

A fumigation certificate is an official document confirming that cargo, packaging, pallets, wood materials, or agricultural goods have been treated to eliminate pests, insects, or other biosecurity risks. In international trade, fumigation certificates may be required by destination countries to prove that goods meet import, quarantine, or phytosanitary requirements. The certificate usually identifies the shipment, treatment method, fumigant used, treatment date, exposure time, and authorised provider.

  • Required for containers treated under ISPM 15 wood packaging regulations
  • Must identify the fumigant used, concentration, exposure time, and date of treatment
  • Issued by a licensed fumigator and sometimes countersigned by a government authority
  • Must accompany the shipment to the destination country
