Cargo Pilot Fatigue Rule Reconsidered – The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is reconsidering expanding fatigue rules for air cargo pilots, not just passenger plane pilots. A bipartisan House bill was introduced last month that would require cargo pilots to take eight hours of rest between shifts when the overall FAA rules take effect January 14, 2012.

TSA to Implement 100 Percent Global Cargo Screening – The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will begin 100% screening on all cargo arriving from international passenger flights on December 3rd. The TSA is working to synchronize international security requirements with other nations’ through a series of mutual recognition agreements and is working closely with Customs and Border Protection to adopt risk-based screening techniques for domestic air cargo.
